Here at Jack Richeson & Co, we are excited to announce our participation in the Madeline Island School of the Arts Plein Air Painters of America Master Workshop. Check out the information below and as always if you are in attendance stop by our vendor table for a great art materials gift.

This is the inaugural Master Workshop Week of an annual series sponsored by Plein Air Painters of America.  The week will provide a full immersion workshop experience, on the finest Island campus, with unlimited painting locations. 


~SIX instructors available all week to discuss technique and answer questions 
~ FIVE unforgettable days on Madeline Island, in the Apostle Islands
~ FOUR full days working with an instructor
~ ONE big paint out on the last day with all instructors and guest artists
~ THREE fabulous meals a day

RUTH ARMITAGE: Abstracting from Nature
October 23-26, 2017

Ruth Armitage is both an amazing artist and a respected teacher. She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Northwest Watercolor Society, Rocky Mountain National Watermedia, the California Watercolor Society and Past President of the Watercolor Society of Oregon. Ruth’s work has received many local and national awards and been included in numerous national publications and exhibitions. In 2004 her work was profiled on Oregon Public Broadcasting’s Oregon Art Beat TV show.

Darla Bostick’s 10th Annual Ghost Ranch Workshop/Retreat

You are invited to Darla Bostick’s 10th Annual Ghost Ranch Workshop/Retreat in Abiquiu, NM  1-7 October 2017.  Includes digital photography, watercolors/acrylics, pencil, ink, incorporating text and mixed media work with options for plein air painting and comfort of a group activity room (floor to ceiling vista views). For 7 days/6 nights you can relax, enjoy, and create. Lodging and meals included at Ghost Ranch property. The Georgia O'Keeffe Landscape Tour takes you where she painted from the local, magnificent area scenery. Visit the O’Keeffe studio/home on tour.  Space is limited to 16 participants. Bring materials you love to work with (or try something new) and join us! The workshop fee is $550. Room and board at the Ranch is separate from the workshop fee and are their rates—which has recently been redesigned to provide the ultimate discount for those sharing a room, so bring a friend! Unclaimed rooms will be released 25 August. Currently there are 12 spaces left!

Mark Polomchak Workshop 2017

Watercolor with Lester Lee
November 4th, 2017
9 AM - 4 PM with lunch break

Bountiful Davis Art Center

Join local favorite, Lester Lee, for this one day workshop. This course is primarily for beginning watercolorists, but anyone is welcome. The morning will comprise of a question and answer session, painting demonstrations of color and technique, and a quick drawing lesson. After lunch, students will use a document camera and projector to paint a country scene together.
