Crazy busy summer huh? Everyone that I know, was gone somewhere, long term, short term and some are still missing… (that would be me, for who knows how long.) August starts to bring summer vacation to a close, and we can turn our attentions to “ Matters of Water.” Your Board has been busy writing prospectuses, filling workshops, planning exhibits all in preparation for a great UWS year.

I hope you’ve been able to paint. There have been Paint Outs up and running for the summer. The Plein Air competitions in Torrey and Midway have attracted many of our members, and hopefully some of those paintings of summer will make it into the Exhibitions.

We have some great workshops lined up for the 2019-20 year; both Mini and our Fall and Spring workshops with National Artists. Be sure and check our website often.

We are going to implement a few new ideas for our monthly member meetings; all with the hope of including and involving more of you.

We are also fielding ideas on adding an event to our exhibition schedule; one that it perhaps less formal, less restrictive and more inclusive. Stay tuned for that.

I look forward to a great year with UWS as we all work together to keep this great organization moving forward with new ideas. Please feel free to make suggestions; contact any one of us on the board with your input…” it takes a village.”

~Linda
