We are looking forward to another exciting Utah Watercolor Society year. Here is
just a preview of what will be happening.
Our opening Member Meeting will be on September 2nd at 7:00 p.m. We are
fortunate to have Al Rounds who will do a demonstration that evening. Al needs
no introduction to Utah artists. His historical paintings of Utah are iconic and
lately he has been painting homes in Midway. He was recently given access to
Kalaupapa Historic Site in Hawaii and is planning paintings based on his visit.
You won’t want to miss this meeting. Invite your friends to join us.
Our Fall Workshop will be held on October 8th, 9th, and 10th. Laurin McCracken will
be our guest instructor. Other artists who paint realism in the manner of the Dutch
masters say he is the modern master and that if you ever have the chance to take a
workshop from Laurin you should take advantage of the opportunity. Be sure to
read the information about this workshop. Registration is open.
Laurin McCracken will also do a demonstration at our October 7th member
meeting.
Get your paintings ready for the Fall Member Show. The deadline for entries is
September 8th . Read the prospectus and get details on ArtCall and UWS website.
The 12th annual Arts in the Park information is available. This event will be held
October 8th to October 11th . Registration will be open soon, but you may want to
make room reservations now.
We apologize for the workshop and Arts in the Park conflict. This was out of our
control, but we’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.
We have three mini workshops scheduled this year. Stay tuned for more on these.
Utah Watercolor Society provides wonderful educational opportunities for our
members, and we hope you’ll take advantage of as many as possible. Share your
love of watercolor painting with friends and other enthusiasts. Invite them to join
us. Great things are happening at UWS!
All the best,
Margo Cook
