Utah Watercolor Society

The Utah Watercolor Society (UWS) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1974 dedicated to promoting, educating, and advancing the art of water media. It serves as a community for artists to share techniques, offering monthly meetings, workshops, and two annual, professionally-juried exhibitions.

Key aspects of the Utah Watercolor Society include:

  • Exhibitions: Sponsors two annual, juried exhibitions, including a Spring Open Exhibition, with selected works often included in the Utah Division of Arts and Museums' Traveling Exhibition Program.

  • Networking & Education: As a member of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies (WFWS), UWS provides access to regional opportunities and hosts workshops with nationally recognized artists.

  • Organization: Founded on December 30, 1974, it promotes water media, defined as transparent and/or opaque water-based media on paper.
