Have you ever wanted to paint looser, more expressively? Have you started down a road toward abstraction, not to abandon your sense of subject, but to play with the elements of design? If you answered “yes” to either or both questions, this workshop is for you!
Sue Martin will share her own journey toward abstraction and will lead you down that road through a series of iterations on the subject of your choice (landscape, still life, or figure, for example).
Iterations will explore elements of design: color, line, shape, texture, and value. You may work with any water medium or mixed water media. After you sign up for the workshop, you’ll receive a suggested supply list. This workshop is open to all levels of experience. It is designed to be playful and supportive as participants s-t-r-e-t-c-h out of their comfort zones to explore new approaches to their favorite subject. The more you explore the elements of design, the better your realistic paintings will be.
