treat! Betsy Dillard Stroud, a renowned National Artist demonstrated at our monthly May meeting. Her flamboyant, innovative style was something we have not seen presented at UWS, The abstraction of shapes, bold colors and amazing design sense, sets her apart and at par with the water media artists around the world. Betsy encouraged the use of Acrylics and watercolors on the same piece and used a variety of stamps that she had hand carved in a linoleum block. Her energy and excitement for abstract pieces was infectious and I am sure inspired those of us who paint representationally, to try a different direction. Check out her website as a reference for your future experimentation.
