I did this show last year and am so excited!
I have two questions.
One, I understand it is no canvas.
I wondered if I used a watercolor canvas just for the sake of holding the paper tight but afterward sliced the square painting out, is that considered canvas? Is it the material or the wood frame of the canvas that disqualifies it?
I’m ok either way, I just wanted to double check.
Second, if I do an abstract piece that has a lot of negative space on the edges, am I allowed to show that in the image for the submission? I’m supposed to crop the image to the edge of the painting and show no white but my painting has a lot of negative space on the edges and isn’t a square, or I am not able to crop it to exact proportions.
