This month’s member meeting had the greatest attendance ever…if you count snowflakes! It was a small but sincere group, in spite of the snow storm. Maggie Harrison was our presenter. She shared her love and experience of Plein Air painting while doing a great demonstration.
Maggie took us through the steps she uses to develop a painting while on location. She brought a sketch she had done of The Park Café, from her vantage point in Liberty Park. Her demo began with light washes then she added darker values and color as the painting progressed. It was very helpful that she talked us through her process, highlighting learning from mistakes.
It was a great demo by someone in our own UWS. Thanks Maggie!
There are many more of you who could likewise give a great presentation to our group. Don’t be shy, please contact one of us on the board about sharing your unique talent.
