Sherry Meidell will demo and present at the Utah Watercolor Society meeting January 2, 2024 at 7 pm at the Sons of the Utah Pioneer Building. She will talk about the importance that good drawing habits can bring to your watercolor paintings and your life. Sherry is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, and Utah Watercolor Society. She has taught watercolor classes, and presented multiple workshops on children’s book writing and illustrating, using a sketch book to improve skill and confidence, and watercolor painting and technique. She is the past president of the Utah Watercolor Society and past illustrator coordinator for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Come and join in the fun and learning. Cache Valley Chapter UWS Winter Show Event Utah Watercolor Society Cache Valley Chapter Winter Exhibition 2024 You are invited to enter the Utah Watercolor Society Cache Valley Chapter Winter 2024 Exhibition No theme this year but for this MAT ONLY show, all MATTED entries must fit an 11 x 14 frame. Mat width can vary. Entries will be in cellophane envelopes (CVC will provide them). Pieces will not be framed, but mat MUST fit in an 11 x 14 frame (vertical or horizontal). For example: For a 3″ mat, a 5″ x 6″For a 2″ mat, a 6″ x 9″Or, 11″ x 14″ mats with 8″ x 10″ openings are available at local and online art suppliers. No Frame or Glass for this show, only the 11″ x 14″ mat. CVC will provide plastic envelopes. To be considered for prizes, entries must follow restrictions. Professional Artist Category DefinitionThose who have an art degree, or teach art courses, or are represented by galleries or who derive $3,000 or more per year in art-earned income.Amateur Artist Category DefinitionIndividuals without art degrees who derive less than $3,000 in sales from their art work and are not represented in galleries nor teach art courses Entry Fee: $20 first entry; $15 for the second (Note no refunds will be issued once an entry is made.) General Requirements: All paintings must hang for the duration of the show. (Exceptions will be made according to the needs of buyer)By entering this show, you grant permission for use of your artwork image for publicity purposes.All work must be original, conceived and created by you.
