Linda Flannery was born and raised on Long Island, New York and moved to Utah in the 60’s to attend BYU. She received a BS Degree in Art and Biology and taught both in Utah’s public schools for 40 years. After retiring, she worked as a lecturer on cruise ships, traveling to many places around the world. Plein air painting in watercolors, is her first creative love. She states, ” I much prefer to paint on location in a snowstorm or on a hot day under the shade of a tress, then sit inside in my studio and paint something from a photograph. The wind, the light, and the sounds outside heighten my creative juices and as I look at a painting, even years later, I remember the exact day that I painted it.” She has won many local awards and plein air competitions around the state. Linda is a past president of the Utah Watercolor Society.
Don’t miss our first meeting of the 2024-2025 membership year! It promises to be a great one!
