Maggie Harrison will be our presenter for the February 5th meeting and “Painting Out” is the title of her presentation. Maggie is a long time member of the UWS and is an enthusiastic plein air painter. She has competed in numerous plein air events including Capitol Reef and Midway. She is going to share some tips and tricks for doing a great outdoor painting. She will demonstrate how to set up an easel and what items are essential when battling time constraints and Mother Nature. Don’t miss this. Mark your calendars now!!
Bio:
Maggie Harrison was born and raised in Cody, Wyoming. She first painted and took lessons with her grandmother. She graduated from BYU with a BA and USU with an MFA in Textile Arts. She sold tie dye and ceramic statuary at art festivals for over 20 years and also created handmade felt pieces during that time. She joined UWS in 2011 and has loved her time there. She headed up Paint Outs for several years and is now a Signature Member of UWS.
